Carly Rae Jepsen reveals baby name 'inspired by Heated Rivalry'
Carly Rae Jepsen is a huge fan of Heated Rivalry, and her baby boy apparently shares his name with a character on the show.
Carly Rae Jepsen says she named her new born baby after a character from Heated Rivalry.
The 40-year-old singer and her husband Cole M.G.N., whose real name is Cole Marsden Greif-Neill, welcomed their first child into the world in early March and now she appears to have revealed some details about their bundle of joy.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the steamy hockey romance series, she said: "It was an incredible show.
"Ilya is the name of my son. Maybe, not maybe because of that show."
Ilya Rosanov is played by Connor Storrie in the series, and his romance with ice hockey rival Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) is at the heart of the show.
Earlier this year, Heated Rivalry showrunner Jacob Tierney admitted he would love to have Carly Rae write a new song for the series.
He told the What Chaos! podcast: "She was on my playlist for when I wrote. I will definitely be asking next time. I was even gonna ask her to write a new song, that's what I was gonna do."
Although Jacob "didn't even try" for the first season because he didn't think they could "afford her", he's keen to try "next time" for season two.
Carly Rae hadn't heard from him yet, but she told THR that it would be a "dream" to work on something.
She and Cole announced the birth of their child earlier this year.
Carly shared a photo on her Instagram Story of her holding her baby and wrote over the top of the photo: “Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life.
“Welcome to the world little one.(sic)"
Carly announced her pregnancy in November, just weeks after she and Cole got married.
The couple said "I do" in front of 100 guests inside the Bard Room, Chelsea Hotel in New York City on October 4.
Speaking about the venue, the 40-year-old singer's told Vogue: "We knew we wanted a location that meant something to us, and the Chelsea Hotel had become a home away from home every time we were in New York.
"As artists, its iconic history and lore made it that much more appealing. For planning, we had weekly dates to talk out all the details of the wedding. This way it was only ever fun and not too much at once."
