Prince Harry is reportedly hoping to make a rare public appearance with his father King Charles next year at the Invictus Games in Birmingham, England.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020 and moved to California with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. He headed home for the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations in the summer of 2022 as well as the late monarch's funeral later in the year and he also made a brief appearance at the King's coronation in May 2023.
However, a new report suggests Harry wants to appear alongside his father at his Invictus Games in Birmingham, England in 2027. A source told The Mirror newspaper: "Harry’s intention is two fold. He would love the King’s support at the Games, while having his father by his side would also add considerable weight to his argument for security for his family to accompany him on the trip."
Another insider added: "Next year is a big deal for Harry. He is determined that the Birmingham Games will be the best ever and it would mean the world to him to have his father there."
Harry was back in the UK in July and was later joined by his wife Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who were given the chance to see their grandfather King Charles for the first time in four years in a private meeting at Highgrove, the monarch's country residence in Gloucestershire, England.
No images were released from the reunion, and no further details will be provided, as it was a "private family occasion”, the palace said.
The meeting marked the first time Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been in the UK since June 2022, when they travelled over to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth.
The July trip was overshadowed by a furore over Harry's accommodation at Buckingham Palace, which fell through after he reportedly failed to give enough notice about his plans and he had to stay elsewhere.
However, he's said to be due back in the country in September to attend a series of engagements around the WellChild Awards, which are being held in London later this year, and Harry has reportedly been offered another chance to stay at the palace in the UK capital.
The Sun newspaper reported Harry "will accept the fresh offer to stay at the Palace well in advance this time".
