James Bond loathes tea

The spy might have personified Englishness across the world with his good manners and impeccable style but do not offer him a cup of tea, as he is a self-confessed detester of the drink beloved by nearly all of the UK.

In the ‘Goldfinger’ book - published in 1959 - James says: “I don’t drink tea. I hate it. It’s mud. Moreover it’s one of the main reasons for the downfall of the British Empire. Be a good girl and make me some coffee.”
