Prince William and Princess Catherine

The Prince and Princess of Wales first set eyes on one another when they were both students at the University of St Andrews in 2001.

Whilst enrolled in History of Art, Kate Middleton (as she was then known) and William lived in the same halls of residence.

The future king became infatuated with Kate after he attended a college charity fashion show in 2002 where Kate walked down the runway in a sheer dress with visible black underwear. In 2003 their close friendship became a royal romance that captivated the world.

In 2010, they announced their engagement before marrying in a fairy tale ceremony in April 2011.
