Out on his own
After the supergroup Beck, Bogert and Appice and the second incarnation of The Jeff Beck Group failed to make much impact in the charts, Beck decided to go solo in 1975.
That same year he released the album 'Blow By Blow', produced by Beatles studio collaborator George Martin.
The LP was entirely instrumental with Beck's astonishing guitar playing replacing the parts of a lead vocalist, something he would continue with for many more records.
The LP was a success and made the top 10 in America and he followed it up with 1976's 'Wired' - also produced by Martin.
