The Kremlin has denied claims that Vladimir Putin soiled himself after falling down the stairs at his Moscow home.

The Russian tyrant is alleged to have slipped coming down the stairs and "involuntary defecated" due to the effects of colon cancer but the presidential press office has denied that it happened.

The Press and Information Office of the President of the Russian Federation, when asked about the story, said: "Regarding your request, we can say that this is completely untrue."

The claims about Putin's defecation were made by the Telegram channel General SVR, which has been posting updates about the despot's health since the start of the war with Ukraine - although it has provided no evidence to support claims or proof that it has connections with Moscow insiders.

According to General SVR, Putin was walking downstairs when he "stumbled and fell to his back, after which he fell on his side and slid down a couple of steps".

The fall led to bruising of Putin's coccyx and highlighted problems with his "cancer of the gastrointestinal tract".

The tyrant's stumble caused an "involuntary" reaction and doctors escorted Putin to the bathroom and cleaned him up before examining him.

Rumours have been rife about the Russian leader's health and leaked documents have confirmed that he has early-stage Parkinson's disease and pancreatic cancer.
