Angelina Jolie

The ‘Girl Interrupted’ star, who won the Best Suppprting Actress Oscar for her portrayal as a mental health patient in the film, was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in the 1990s which resulted in Angelina having to check herself into a mental facility for homicidal and suicidal thoughts.

The struggles were attributed to her turbulent relationship with her father Jon Voight.

Voight once pleaded with her fans to get his daughter help for her “mental problems”.

Speaking in 2002, Voight said he was ”brokenhearted…because I’ve been trying to reach my daughter and get her help, and I have failed and I’m sorry. Really I haven’t come forward and addressed the serious mental problems she has spoken about so candidly to the press over the years, but I’ve tried behind the scenes in every way.”
