The meaning of the name

The name of the quintet came basically by chance, after an amusing incident during a second rehearsal, when Díaz's sister entered the house where they were staying and, disconcerted to find five young people dancing and singing in the garage, exclaimed aloud "How much ‘menudo’ is here!", which could mean something like ‘how many little/younger persons here’, as ‘menudo’ means little in Spanish. They liked the phrase and so the group was called Menudo.
