Kai Rooney could be the family’s next football superstar

Eldest son Kai, 16, plays for Manchester United’s youth academy and is being touted for a scholarship at the club where his dad scored 253 goals.

Kai makes a bold claim that he is the best footballer in the family and he wants people to “know the name Kai Rooney” as a star footballer in his own right in the future.

When asked if he would cry if son Kai gets signed for Manchester United, Wayne says: “Probably. I cry at everything anyway. I’ve cried over some mad things, Coronation Street, X Factor, when Barry got pushed off the hill by Janine in EastEnders, I’m pretty sure I was crying.”
