The Born To Run artist detailed how the illness would completely flatten him in his 60s, leaving him unable to function - a struggle heavily tied to watching his own father battle the exact same undiagnosed condition. Reflecting on the hidden nature of his pain, Springsteen noted: "I was crushed between 60 and 62, then again at 64. It’s a freight train bearing down on you, loaded with all the things you haven’t sorted out."
