The Sister Act star explained how her fear started when she witnessed a mid-air collision in San Diego back in the 1970s.

She explained how the scene was particularly traumatising because "the people on the plane were aware that they were in some danger".

The View panelist even used to take 23-hour trips from New York to Los Angeles and back via private bus so she didn't have to get on a plane.
