The One Battle After Another actress revealed how she was given an extension on her cookery school assignment so she could attend the Golden Globes in January – where she picked up the award for Best Supporting Female Actor (Motion Picture).

Teyana told E! News: "My deadline is on Tuesday. I gotta have my meals by Tuesday. I spoke to my chef yesterday, and he’s giving me an extension so I can turn my assignment in on Thursday. My school has been very, very supportive of me.

"I was like: 'Chef, it ain’t happening [getting the work done by Tuesday]'. This is when a double life is kicking in. I’m like: 'I’m gonna need ’til Thursday.'

"I’m a straight-A student, and I want to keep it that way. I don’t want to make any excuses."
