Zodiac (2007)

Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr. play a political cartoonist, a journalist and a police detective all fixated with unmasking the Zodiac Killer in 1960s–70s San Francisco. The Zodiac’s identity remains unknown, but the film explores his cryptic letters and taunting behaviour. Gyllenhaal’s performance earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role, while the film received multiple critical accolades.
