Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and others portray FBI agents profiling serial killers in the late 1970s. The series explores real killers’ psychological backgrounds, including Edmund Kemper and Jerry Brudos, examining how childhood trauma and personality disorders contributed to their crimes. Groff and McCallany’s performances were widely praised and earned Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Drama Series.
