Roman Polanski

The Oscar-winning filmmaker was born in Paris to Polish-Jewish parents who moved back to Kraków in 1937, two years before the Nazis’ invaded in WWII where he was trapped with his family in the Kraków Ghetto. Whilst his mother and father perished, he escaped by passing himself off as Catholic.
