In 2022, Taylor was branded fatphobic after her music video for Anti-Hero contained the word fat in what was deemed a derogatory display. In the now edited out scene, Taylor is looks down at the scale which has “fat” written across is.

Whilst most fans criticised the songstress, others jumped to her defence claiming she was forced to water down her artistic expression in how she chose to portray her lived experience with anorexia.

Taylor has always struggled with body image particularly as it’s been a topic of discussion amongst the public.

In 2020, comedian Nikki Glasser apologised to Taylor for comments she made about her weight that were featured in the documentary Miss Americana.

In the sound bite, Nikki is heard saying: “She’s too skinny; it bothers me … all of her model friends, and it’s just like, c'mon!"
