Cher met the Top Gun actor in 1985 at Madonna and Sean Penn’s wedding, and had a short-lived fling.

Cher was 38 at the time when she got with Cruise who was 23.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden, the Believe singer described Tom as one of her “top five lovers”.

Cher also told Oprah Winfrey that he would have been a “great big romance” if their busy schedules hadn’t forced them apart.

The couple did have one date, which the musician revealed went on for quite some time.

She said: “That was a long date — I lived in his apartment.”
