Close Encounters of the Third Kind
While it’s not as beloved as his other sci-fi flick E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind is still one of Steven Spielberg’s most iconic movies.
In the 1977 picture, Richard Dreyfuss stars as an ordinary man drawn to a mysterious mountain after seeing a UFO.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind was nominated for eight Oscars, and took home the statues for Best Cinematography and Best Sound Effects Editing.
Spielberg described it as “a very optimistic film about reaching out and finding connection”.
