The Truman Show

Carrey took a paycut to play the more serious role of Truman Burbank in the 1998 comedy drama. It tells the story of an insurance salesman who is blissfully unaware his entire life is recorded and shown as a TV show, with actors portraying his loved ones. He missed out on a predicted Oscar nomination, but won his first Golden Globe for Best Actor.
