'I'm sick of explaining my music!'

Lorde has written countless songs since childhood and she has released more than 20 singles during her career but explained that as she gets older she intends to stop explaining what the lyrics mean because they are so "precious" to her.

She said: "As I get older, I find myself saying, ‘No actually I’m not gonna explain that song.' Not because I necessarily need it left to interpretation, but because it’s about something that’s very precious to me."
