In her second Yargos Lanthimos film, Emma plays Bella Baxter, a young woman in Victorian London. Bella leaves her life with the scientist that brought her back to life to explore the world with a lawyer. The role is far from traditional, but was popular with critics and audiences alike and earned Emma her second Best Actress Oscar. In her speech at the awards show, Emma said: "Yorgos, thank you for the gift of a lifetime in Bella Baxter. I am forever thankful for you. Thank you for inviting all of us to be members of this team. Thank you.”
