Technological wizardry

As well as being an all-round excellent movie, 'Rocky' helped push the technological boundaries in cinema.

In order to get the shots of Rocky's legendary running and training montage, the Steadicam – which keeps action footage incredibly smooth – was utilised for one of the first times in Hollywood history.

While it is perhaps the most famous use of the technology, 'Rocky' wasn't actually the first as both 'Bound for Glory' and 'Marathon Man' employed the Steadicam beforehand.
