Oscar glory

As well as proving to be a financial hit, ‘Rocky’ dazzled at the Academy Awards.

The movie was nominated for an astounding 10 Oscars, and left the ceremony with a three statuettes, including for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

Taking to the stage to accept the award, producer Robert Chartoff lauded Stallone for his dedication and enthusiasm for the film.

He said: "Sylvester Stallone, I'd like to thank you for sharing your dream of Rocky with us and for giving a performance that has enriched all our lives."
