Selena Gomez was offered a role in High School Musical 3: Senior Year

The Disney Channel alumnus was offered an unspecified role in the last instalment but turned it down to focus on more serious roles.

Selena - who shot to fame on the Disney Channel sitcom 'Wizards of Waverly Place' - said: “I passed on it because I didn't want to do it. I plan to take other roles in acting that are challenging for me. After Disney, I want to be taken seriously as an actress for many years." Fans have since speculated she was up for the part of Sharpay’s assistant Tiara Gold.
