The Big Lebowski
Like ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘The Big Lebowski’ suffered from being released in the same year as a host of major movies.
The film starring Jeff Bridges had to compete for viewers with none other than ‘Titanic’ upon release in 1998, so had a slow start on its opening weekend.
It wasn’t until much later that the film was popular enough to have its own fan festival and a large amount of dedicated followers, due to Joel Cohen's madcap plot and offbeat comedy.
