Cillian Murphy pays tribute to director Christopher Nolan
Cillian Murphy picked up the Best Leading Actor prize for his performance as scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
In his acceptance speech, he admitted he "didn't see himself" in the biographical role until producer Emma Thomas and director Christopher Nolan convinced him that he was the only man for the job.
He said: "Oh boy, holy moly, thank you very, very much BAFTA. To the most dynamic, kindest producer-director partnership in Hollywood: Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas, thank you for seeing something in me that I probably didn't see in myself. Thank for always pushing me and demanding excellence because that is what you deliver time and time again."
