'Sully'

Tom played pilot Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger - a man who heroically landed a plane on New York's Hudson River in 2009 after the engines were damaged - in the 2016 biopic.

The movie focused on Sully's attempts to deal with press attention and an investigation into the incident.

Hanks claimed a Hollywood Film Award (the Hollywood Actor Award) prize and also took home the Icon Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for his work on the movie.
