Other accolades

Hanks has won many of the biggest awards in film but has also picked up some unique prizes during his career. These include a Cleveland Critics Circle for Best Actor (for a stage production of ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’ in 1978,) and an Empire Magazine Award for Best Actor (for ‘Saving Private Ryan’ in 1999.)

In 2020, Hanks was the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is annually presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association during the Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
