Another first for Brenda Fraser

The 54-year-old actor celebrated his first-ever Oscar win with his sons at the Vanity Fair after-party.

Making a career comeback, Brendan was named Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the drama ‘The Whale’ – in which he stars as a morbidly obese teacher.

Brendan thanked director Darren Aronofsky in his acceptance speech for throwing him a lifeline following a hiatus from Hollywood.

He said: "I’m grateful to Darren for throwing me a creative lifetime and hauling me aboard the good ship 'The Whale'.”
