Even though the sci-fi horror was released direct to video, it paid off for the actor as Robert De Niro reportedly spotted him in the film, which led to him being cast in ‘This Boy’s Life'. Not long after, DiCaprio also starred in ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,’ earning him an Oscar nomination at just 19.
