John Lennon
The Beatles legend was shot dead at the age of 40 in 1980.
Lennon had autographed a copy of 'Double Fantasy' for Mark David Chapman outside The Dakota Building, before leaving for a recording session with his wife Yoko Ono.
When John and Yoko returned to the building, Chapman shot Lennon twice in the back and twice in the shoulder at close range.
The musician was pronounced dead at Roosevelt Hospital.
If he were still alive today, he would be preparing to celebrate his 82nd birthday on October 9.
