When Michelle was 19, she teamed up with Idalis DeLeon and April Harris to form the singing group Seduction, who achieved chart hits with tracks like ‘Two to Make It Right’ and 'Could This Be Love'.
Remembering her time in the girl group between 1989 and 1991, she told The Guardian newspaper: “I will say that it was a great experience. We had a platinum record, we got to tour with Milli Vanilli, playing arenas. It was the most incredible time of my life, and I would do it again. But we weren’t being paid the way we should have been paid – at 19 you don’t care.”
She later went to record a cover of 1978 Bill Withers song ‘Lovely Day’ as a member of The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M.
The track appeared in the 1992 Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner film ‘The Bodyguard’.
