The 56-year-old former Oasis rocker would be keen to help any aliens feel welcome on planet Earth, and thinks the vastness of the universe is enough proof of their existence.

Appearing on The Matt Morgan Podcast, he said: “I’d be part of an alien welcoming committee in a heart beat.

"If they find irrefutable evidence, what will that go to prove anyway - that there’s life in the outer reaches of the universe?

“We all know there must be anyway with the amount of stars there are out there. "There’s got be other planets like Earth - science will tell you that.

“I would accept it pretty quickly and say, ‘All right, there’s life on other planets, so what?'"
