Mike Birbiglia
Comedian Mike Birbiglia, 44, has gone through some tough moments in his life, including difficult childhood episodes, as well as a bladder cancer diagnosis.
The ‘Orange is the New Black’ star has said that those events resulted in him sleepwalking, a very personal topic he has addressed in his live show ‘Sleepwalk With Me’ and book of the same name.
On one occasion, Mike's sleepwalking almost cost him his life!
He shared: "So, it's January 20th, 2005, and I'm in Walla Walla, Washington. I'm lying in bed at La Quinta Inn. I'm Googling myself, watching the news and eating a pizza at the same time. And I fall asleep, and I have a dream that there is a guided missile headed towards my room […] And I decided in my dream and, as it turns out, in my life to jump out my window. There are two important details: One, I was on the second floor; two, the window was closed. […] So, I jumped through the window, fell two stories, landed on the front lawn of the hotel, got up and kept running.”
Mike was eventually take to the E.R. and was lucky enough to escape with no lasting damage.
