Lili Reinhart has revealed that she relished filming The Love Hypothesis.
Lili Reinhart feels honoured to star in The Love Hypothesis.
The 30-year-old actress stars alongside Tom Bateman in The Love Hypothesis, the new film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's 2021 novel, and Lili has relished the experience of shooting the movie.
The Hollywood star - who plays Olive Smith, a talented Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, in the movie - told People: "Some students would come up to us and say, ‘We’re such big fans of the book because it makes us feel so seen and represented as women in science.’ And that was really cool.
"It feels really amazing to be in a romantic comedy that’s centred around women in science because that just doesn’t happen, and it feels like an honour to be able to give those girls the moment they deserve. So we’re lucky that this movie gives them the credit where credit is due."
Despite this, Lili admitted that she struggles to relate to her on-screen character.
The actress joked: "Science was my worst subject. I didn’t go to college. Couldn’t relate less to being a graduate student in science."
Previously, Lili admitted to being reluctant to star in a rom-com movie during her younger years.
The actress said on an Obsessed Fest panel: "The script was brought to me. I hadn't read the book yet, but as soon as I got the script, I read the script and then I went and read the book and then I felt convinced to do it.
"I wasn't sure I wanted to do a romantic comedy, but then I was very quickly sold on the idea."
Lili really enjoyed the "friendship aspect" of the movie.
She explained: "If you aren't familiar, the big, important part of The Love Hypothesis and sort of the engine of the story, is that these two come together because of Olive's loyalty to her best friend.
"I really enjoyed the friendship aspect. I think it's a romantic comedy. It's about two people falling in love, but it also stemming from a place of female friendship, which is really beautiful and lovely."
