Blake Garrett's cause of death confirmed
Former child star Blake Garrett died of acute fentanyl toxicity and the tragedy has been ruled an accident by authorities, according to Us Weekly.

The How to Eat Fried Worms actor - who played Plug in the 2006 children's comedy movie - passed away in February at the age of 33 and it's now been revealed his cause of death has been listed as acute fentanyl toxicity and the tragedy has been ruled an accident, according to documents from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Tulsa, Oklahoma which were obtained by Us Weekly.
The publication reports the paperwork also shows Blake was being housed in a sober living house in Tulsa at the time of his passing.
Blake's mother Carol Garrett previously told TMZ.com her son was diagnosed with shingles - a painful viral rash caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus - the week before his death after rushing to hospital in Oklahoma in "intense pain".
She went on to reveal she believed Blake - who had suffered drug problems in the past - may have self-medicated to cope with the pain.
Carol told the outlet her son had been living a "good life" in the last three years and had "truly turned things around" after a rocky patch.
The late actor was best known for starring in How to Eat Fried Worms - which is loosely based on Thomas Rockwell's 1973 children's book of the same name - opposite James Rebhorn, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh, and Philip Bolden.
He won a Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble Cast for the movie, but later chose to step out of the spotlight and go back to school to complete his education.
Speaking about his most famous film role, Blake told The Oklahoman in 2006: "I play the bully’s henchman. But everybody got along on the set ...
"There was one scene where we were riding on a gravel road and got to slide to a stop. The guys who could ride worked on that scene.
"They had a camera on the ground, and in one scene I slid and gravel hit the camera.They really liked that shot, and that’s the one they used in the movie."
