Aaron Carter's mother launches fundraising campaign for Hollywood Walk of Fame star
Aaron Carter's mom Jane Carter Schneck has launched a GoFundMe page in an attempt to raise money for the late singer to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Aaron Carter's mom has launched a fundraising campaign for her late son to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Jane Carter Schneck has set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for the late singer and rapper – who died at the age of 34 in 2022 – to get a spot on the Hollywood Boulevard landmark that honours those who have contributed to the entertainment industry.
The GoFundMe page reads: "The funds will cover the creation, instillation, and long-term maintenance of the star.
"We are coming together as fans, friends, and supporters to honour Aaron Carter's legacy. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer. If you're unable to give, sharing this campaign means just as much.
"Let's come together to celebrate Aaron's life, his music, and the lasting mark he left on so many hearts."
For a celebrity to be honoured with a physical star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they need to go through a nomination process.
Those who are selected for the accolade also have to pay a fee of $85,000, which is the aim of the GoFundMe campaign.
As of Wednesday (15.04.26), six donors had contributed a total of $150 in the day since the page was set up.
Schneck is planning to submit the necessary paperwork before the May 15 deadline.
Aaron, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, found fame as a child and was only nine years of age when his self-titled debut album was released.
Hits such as I Want Candy and Aaron's Party (Come and Get It) established Aaron as a teen heartthrob but he struggled with both legal and mental health issues and accidentally drowned after taking drugs in 2022.
Meanwhile, Aaron's ex-girlfriend Hilary Duff recently revealed how she was "visited" by the late star during a psychic reading.
The Lizzie McGuire star told the Las Culturistas podcast: "I talked to this psychic on the phone, and she doesn’t know who you are when you call.
"Eventually, she figured it out.
"She’s, like, ‘Well, people are gonna start showing up for you. And there’s someone here. Aaron - two As. I was like, 'Oh my god.'"
