Boy George has told Chappell Roan to "cheer up girl" after she filmed fans and photographers getting in her space in Paris.

The Grammy winner filmed the moment she was surrounded while trying to go out for dinner in the French capital, telling followers she felt “disregarded as a human” as people ignored her repeated requests for space.

The 28-year-old singer filmed the incident in selfie mode as she stepped out of her car to head into a restaurant, immediately finding herself surrounded by a crowd.

Showing their proximity, she said in footage filmed by an onlooker and going viral on social media: “I’m just trying to go to dinner, and I’ve asked these people several times to get away from me."

Chappell then focused on one person who continued to ask for an autograph despite her pleas.

The agitated musician said: “This person I’ve asked several times to go away, and they will not… They’re hiding their face, because they’re ashamed."

Visibly shaken, she told viewers she felt “disregarded as a human,” adding: “These are all the people that are completely disregarding my boundaries.”

She then addressed the crowd directly: “All of you, I’m asking you kindly to please leave me alone and stop following me and harassing me. No, I’m not gonna sign.”

Chappell ended the clip by turning the camera back on herself and saying: “This is what it’s like, if you were wondering how it is.”

And now, the Karma Chameleon hitmaker has reacted and said she should embrace the attention while she can as fame fades, insisting it's all part of the package when you become a pop star.

The 64-year-old singer penned on X: "It's probably not helpful but I have been doing this fame thing for a while and you learn slowly and painfully that you don't get a free pass once you turn yourself into a bird of paradise. I watched @ChappellRoan filming the paps in Paris and I laughed because I have kicked off at them many times. The trick is to own your fame. yes, it's annoying at times but so is being ignored and told your a 'has-been. Life is always now and I think Chappell looks great but cheer up girl. The world is at your feet stop kicking it! It takes so much more time to say no to a picture or a signature. Boundaries are boring. Break them with the magic of kindness! (sic)"

The Pink Pony Club hitmaker previously voiced her fears about being a celebrity in a candid interview with The Face magazine.

She said: "I feel like fame is just abusive. The vibe of this - stalking, talking s*** online, [people who] won’t leave you alone, yelling at you in public – is the vibe of an abusive ex-husband.

"That’s what it feels like. I didn’t know it would feel this bad."
