January Jones has opened up about "struggling" with a health condition that has "gotten progressively worse over the years".

The Mad Men actress - who played Betty Draper in the series - took to Instagram to tell fans she suffers from misophonia, an extreme emotional reaction to certain everyday sounds, and it is particularly bad when her brother-in-law is crunching crisps around her.

She said in an Instagram video: "For today, I'd like to talk about something that I've been struggling with my whole life, which is called misophonia.

"My whole life, and it's gotten progressively worse over the years.

"I have a brother-in-law whose favourite food is chips. Just all the time eating chips.

"I have talked to him about this many times and he seems to think it's funny to eat chips around me now, because it's an ongoing joke to see what happens and see what I do.

"I just think it's really unkind to my issue and also very dangerous for him.

"So what I didn't do today, was record this video inside a prison. Because I've imagined many ways to do it, too.

"But I haven't. I didn't. Not yet.

"Otherwise, he's a really nice guy. And it's his birthday today, so happy birthday.

"I hope you're eating a f*** load of chips."

She captioned the video: "I didn’t do it... today."

In another video posted earlier this week, which she captioned "I didn’t do it", January admitted she has been feeling in a "darker place" amid potentially entering perimenopause.

She said: "I haven’t been officially diagnosed, but I think I have the perimenopause."

January - who said she was "light and fun" during the Covid pandemic - also told how she has been feeling "a lot of rage" lately.

But the American Wedding actress admitted she was "proud" of herself because she didn't roll her car "going 70mph on the freeway" into a Tesla that cut her off, despite "wanting" to do that.
