Brittany Snow is "grateful" for her divorce from Tyler Stanaland.

In September 2022, the 40-year-old actress said it was a "difficult decision to separate" from the 37-year-old former surfer after almost three years of marriage, with her filing for divorce in January 2023, which was finalised that August.

But Brittany, who met Tyler through mutual friends in 2018, is glad to have gone through a divorce because it has transformed her life.

On the latest episode of the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, the actress explained: "I am so grateful that I went through that because the person that I am and the partner I’m with now, it’s just so different.

"I can’t believe I’m grateful for my divorce.

"I was 37, and I was living in an Airbnb, just staring at my dog being like, I don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s just you and me, kiddo. We’re going to try to rebuild this."

The Pitch Perfect star expressed her gratitude for her support network as she navigated life after divorce.

Brittany said: "I really appreciated so many women, friends of mine that were like, 'That happened to me.'

"And, you know, I would go on Reddit and look up stories from women going through things in their later 30s and finding people later in life.

"You know, we we have to make it what we make of it."

The Hunting Wives alum and Tyler announced the news of their break-up on their Instagram accounts in September 2022 with a joint statement.

Alongside a black-and-white shot of the former couple cuddling on a train, she wrote: "After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another.

"We have realised we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives.

"We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. “We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter."

Just months later, Brittany admitted that she was feeling "stronger than ever" amid divorce proceedings.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "As I get older, I am stronger than I ever knew (except my back seems weaker and hurts way more.) I am so grateful for all these days. Thank you for the birthday love my friends." (sic)
