Sydney Sweeney is reportedly related to Marilyn Monroe
A new study has found that Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe is actually a relative of Sydney Sweeney.
Sydney Sweeney is reportedly related to Marilyn Monroe.
The Euphoria actress, 29, has been compared to the Hollywood icon in the past, and back in December 2025 she wore a white dress for The Housemaid premiere which reminded people of Monroe's white skirt look from The Seven Year Itch.
Now, a new study by MyHeritage has found that the pair are actually ninth cousins, once removed.
It's said they share a mutual ancestor called Ezra Perry, who was born in 1625 and died in 1689.
Perry was an early English settler in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
Roi Mandel, director of research at MyHeritage, in a statement: "People have always drawn parallels between Sydney Sweeney and Marilyn Monroe, but seeing their paths align on a deeper level inspired us to look for a real bond in the MyHeritage archives.
"Uncovering their shared branch was incredible, itβs a powerful reminder that humanity is one vast family tree, and when we dig deep, we uncover how remarkably interconnected we all are.β
