Ruth Jones has reacted to Melanie Walters joining Strictly Come Dancing with a message from Nessa.
The 59-year-old Gavin and Stacey creator and star has responded after her 64-year-old castmate - who played Gwen West in the beloved sitcom - was confirmed as the final addition to this year's lineup, and she did so by referencing her own iconic character.
She wrote on Instagram: "You’re doing @bbcstrictly this is amazing news!! And I’ve got a message here from Nessa.
"O' Gwen. I hears you’re donnin’ the dancin shoes. Tidy.
"@shirleyballas learnt all she knows from me back in the 70s. So if you needs any tips on rhythm just call. And don’t take no c**p from @craigrevel. He’s a p***y."
Craig took the post in good humour, and quoted Nessa in the comments as he quipped: "Oh, what's occurring?"
Meanwhile, Gavin and Stacey star Joanne Page has described her former castmate as a "pretty nifty mover".
She told Magic Radio: "I will be watching every week supporting her, she’s brilliant and she’s a pretty nifty mover. I think she will be absolutely fab on it [Strictly]. I want to say she’s very flexible, because she is, I don’t know if people know this, but she’s a qualified Pilates instructor so if anybody can do it, Mel can do it."
