Perez Hilton taken to hospital after authorities responded to apparent act of self-harm during TikTok livestream
Perez Hilton has been taken to hospital after authorities responded to concerns for his welfare following a distressing TikTok livestream on Tuesday (04.08.26).
Perez Hilton was taken to a Miami hospital after authorities responded to an apparent act of self-harm during a TikTok livestream.
Deputies from the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 48-year-old celebrity blogger's home in Florida on Tuesday (04.08.26) after they received "multiple" calls from concerned fans about his behaviour during the distressing livestream, now removed from the platform.
At the scene, deputies spoke with family members and confirmed that the influencer was the only person inside the property at the time of the livestream.
In a statement, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office said: "In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication.
"Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public."
Deputies decided to "tactically disengage" while they continue to monitor developments.
Later, pictures emerged of an ambulance outside Perez's home, and police confirmed that he "had been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention".
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals stayed at the scene, "providing support and resources to the individual’s family".
No further update on Perez's condition has been released.
