King Kenny reveals Celebrity Traitors cast were banned from Googling each other
King Kenny has revealed the Celebrity Traitors cast were banned from searching for one another online in a change from last year.
King Kenny has revealed the Celebrity Traitors cast were banned from searching for one another online.
The content creator made it to the final of this year's show before being correctly outed as a Traitor, but he was happy with his performance because he was keen to "avenge" fellow YouTuber Niko Omilana, who was the first to be banished from the castle during last year's show.
Kenny explained the contestants on the first celebrity season of the show had been researching one another, which he thought made his pal a prime target, but this year producers put steps in place to prevent them from looking one another up.
In a preview for his interview on Hits Radio Breakfast airing on Wednesday (04.11.26) morning, Kenny told hosts Fleur East and James Barr: "I did enough to avenge Niko, because he was done so dirty. He was the first one banished. For no reason, by the way.
"But I think with him it’s because of his videos. So, people saw him as like, oh no, he’s too smart, he’s a prankster and they were YouTubing his videos in the hotel as well. They removed YouTube this year in the hotel."
Shocked James said: "No way, so people were Googling each other?"
Kenny confirmed: "Yeah, so they were watching Niko, like, we need to get him out."
Fleur commented: "That’s so crazy."
James added: "This is the problem with the celeb version I feel."
Kenny then explained things had changed this year.
He said: "You can just research people in the hotel, but they’ve got rid of that now, this year to make it fair."
At the final round table, Kenny betrayed fellow Traitor Maya Jama and voted for her banishment, but she's been very understanding about his decision.
She told Variety: "You know what, I obviously love Kenny to bits. I think he’s amazing. And he didn’t really have much of a choice, so it didn’t hurt as much.
"In hindsight actually, watching back, I’m like, maybe we could have wrangled it.
"But in the moment, it just felt like everyone was going for me. And if Kenny did protect me, then he was going to be finished - even though he did end up being finished anyway. It felt like the only option, so I didn’t hate him for it."
