Pop star Tate McRae has admitted she battled "dark" thoughts after concluding her Miss Possessive Tour late last year - even comparing herself to tragic poet Sylvia Plath.

The 23-year-old pop star spent much of 2025 on the road before finishing the trek in November and she's now confessed she went into a downward spiral after she got home - even comparing herself to tragic poet Sylvia Plath, who spent years struggling with depression before taking her own life in 1963.
Tate told Variety: "I remember reading Sylvia Plath being like: 'I am her'. My thoughts felt so dark at the time, and I felt so lonely.
"I really needed to come back into my body and regulate my nervous system."
The singer added she suffered sleepless nights and couldn't even look at herself in the mirror, but she found a way to address her mental health issues and feel better.
She explained: "I was so shot after the tour. I couldn’t really sleep at night. I’d seen so much of myself that I was like: 'I want to go into a black room and not look in a mirror for six months.'
"And I think I really had to check myself and be like: 'You’re not the worst person in the world. You’re not the ugliest person in the world. You haven’t done everything wrong. And, you know, you’re just doing what you love'."
