Tate McRae feels proud to be launching TATE 01, her own fragrance.
Tate McRae feels "so excited" to be launching her own fragrance.
The 23-year-old pop star has created TATE 01 in partnership with Scent Beauty, Inc., and Tate feels proud to be venturing outside of the music business.
Tate told People: "I’ve always wanted to venture off into creating my own business at some point in my life."
The Greedy hitmaker learned to strike a "specific balance" while creating the new fragrance.
She shared: "I’ve never gravitated towards florals before, but the balance of the woodiness and this ingredient called iso, which enhances your own pheromones, together was something that I just kept going back to and spraying on myself every day — and then getting compliments from other people."
Tate also admitted to feeling inspired by the supermodels of the 90s.
The pop star said: "I think a lot of the references were [that] — and keeping that youth within the perfume, but then it has the warm woody sandalwood side that I feel is what I usually gravitate towards."
Meanwhile, Tate previously admitted that she's found fame to be "scary and overwhelming" at times.
The singer has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, but Tate still struggles with the pressures of fame and success.
Asked if she's ever felt misunderstood by the public, Tate told Billboard: "So many different ways.
"As a woman, you just have to understand that you’re constantly going to be under a microscope, and sometimes that’s a really scary and overwhelming feeling. But on the optimistic side of that, with scrutiny and opinions and people’s perceptions of you, it just leads to a lot of growth and doubling down on who you are.
"I could say that people’s comments don’t affect me, but of course they do. I’m a girl. I have emotions and feelings and insecurities. It sucks to have people commenting on your body or commenting on who you are or having perceptions that are completely off.
"But for me, I’m just here to make art. Trying to explain yourself is a game that I can never win."
