Maya Hawke has bought her first home just a short walk from her mother Uma Thurman’s house.

Describing the move as the chance to “put some roots down” after a whirlwind year that included her surprise wedding to musician Christian Lee Hutson, Maya, 27, said she is now living in the same upstate New York community where she grew up while filming a new television adaptation of The God of the Woods.

The actress and singer, whose parents are Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke recently married Christian during a private Valentine’s Day ceremony in New York City.

Discussing her new move with People, Maya said: “I just got myself a home a couple of blocks away from my mom.

“I’m so excited to finally be able to put some roots down.”

Maya’s home purchase coincided with her filming Netflix’s adaptation of Liz Moore’s bestselling novel The God of the Woods, which is being shot across the Hudson River Valley and the Adirondack Mountains.

Maya land a role on the show as she continues to build a career beyond her breakout role as Robin Buckley in Netflix’s global hit Stranger Things, with the series having wrapped production on its fifth and final season in late 2025 ahead of its highly anticipated release.
