Taylor Swift's fiance Travis Kelce has explained his beer "chugging" and seemingly falling asleep during a date night with the pop star at a basketball game in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday (23.05.26).

The Kansas City Chiefs player took his pop star fiance to the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday (23.05.26) to watch a basketball game - the NBA Eastern Conference Final between the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers - and during the event Travis was seen downing a can of beer in one gulp as well and was later seen looking as if he had nodded off.
However, Travis has now explained his antics and insisted it was all part of the fun of watching his favourite team.
During an appearance on his New Heights podcast, the sportsman's brother Jason Kelce joked Travis was a "role model” by throwing back a beer as he appeared on the Jumbotron screen and Travis defended his actions.
He said: "It was a classy chug, Jason. All right? Didn’t spill one drop.
"Didn’t crush the can. I’m on the hardwood floor at an NBA game, it could’ve got messy. It was a smooth, classy chug to get the people going. We’re down f****** 10 points, trying to get some type of energy going in the building."
When asked if he'd actually fallen asleep during the game, Travis insisted he'd just slumped over and closed his eyes in mock defeat as his team struggled.
He explained: "The Knicks f****** couldn’t miss a goddamn shot in the fourth quarter. I’m just sitting there like: 'Come on'."
