Dove Cameron was "barefaced" and in a "big T-shirt" when Damiano David proposed to her.

The 30-year-old singer-and-actress revealed earlier this month that she had got engaged to the Maneskin frontman, but she's now confirmed the photos she shared at the time were taken by friends on a New Year's vacation and the 27-year-old star actually popped the question during a casual moment back in October.

She told America's Vogue magazine: "For the actual proposal, I wasn’t wearing any make-up.

"I was completely barefaced, 'cause I had no idea that it was gonna be that day. It was very sweet in that way because I am typically very made-up, done-up. I have fun experimenting with that stuff. But in this case, I was just in my big T-shirt, slightly damp hair, and no makeup."
