Dakota Johnson has opened up about her lowkey maintenance for her signature hairstyle

Dakota Johnson loves to sip on a martini while she trims her own hair.

The 36-year-old star has revealed her signature bangs take a lot of maintenance, and so she "always" brings a pair of scissors with her when she's travelling.

She told Vogue Germany: "I've had bangs since I was a kid. I cut them myself when I was about four, and I absolutely loved them.

"I've had them my whole life, except for when I was about 10 to 14. I just feel like myself with bangs.

"Would I be happy not to have to trim them all the time? 100 percent. But I also always travel with scissors, and I love to drink a martini while trimming my own bangs."

The Materialists actress admitted while it doesn't happen "every time", the combination of booze and a haircut has gone wrong in the past.

Dakota also opened up about her haircare process, explaining that she goes for a more natural look when she's not on set.

She said: "I don't use any styling products and let my hair air dry.

"Right now, it's still a little damp, but I don't do anything to it. When I'm filming, it's different, of course."
